Plagiarism

So by posting a link to this article am I plagiarising all other websites that have done the same.

Anyway, Slate is running an article about photography and plagiarism. This does bring up an interesting point about hosting photos on photo sharing sites. I tend not to share good photos on Flickr because I do not want them to be copied or reprinted anywhere else (I flatter myself that someone would want to), but it would be good if Flickr provided watermarking (like FotoPic does for example). Yes, I know that copying photos isn’t plagiarism, but its a variation on a theme and I’ve been trying to make this point for ages.

[Can photographers be plagiarists?]

For what its worth I’d say no, I go with the inspiration argument.
