Service not included

Somewhere in this blog I have detailed a few moans about life in general in Czech Republic, more specically Prague. As with all capital cities, Prague is a country within a country and is not representitive of the nation. It also hogs all the investment and gets tarted up (made more beautiful) first.

And so it is that when being visited we take said visitors out for the day, see the sights, enjoy the culture, soak up the atmosphere (I read somewhere that pollution in Prague is getting worse, so I guess we did literally soak it up). We found ourselves being drawn towards a brewery that serves food. Naturally one has to sample said beer, maybe catch some lunch.

So there we are, reading the menu – noting in a larger font the words “Service is not included” – and the waitress eventually trots over to the table to take the order. We (five of us) are in the process of ordering and the waitress says (in Czech) that we need to “Hurry up! and make a choice”, whilst tutting every time we are slightly unclear on what everyone wants.

Needless to say service was not included.
