A feeling of melancholy fills the office. It is the end of August and the summer was short, hot but very short. Cloudy, inclement weather now rolls in, the greyness reflecting the general mood. It is colder, damper air, far sharper in the morning and evening, biting into the knee and elbow joints. The days too are getting shorter, darkness falls just as you reach home. This happens every year but still it comes as a hard blow. It makes our work feel even worse. There is a feeling of despair within all of us. Once talented individuals are reduced in intellectual standing to nothing more than mundane boredom. Its depressing.
